About Pippa Chorley
Pippa Chorley grew up in a chocolate box village in Cheshire, England. She spent her time inventing stories in her garden and creating magical worlds in the woods on their family dog walks.
Reading used to be a challenge for Pippa as she is dyslexic, and she often found large books with tiny writing quite daunting. That was until Santa Claus gave her a copy of Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome one year. The book was a perfect mix of nature and adventure, friendship and a little danger. It turned Pippa from a reluctant reader into a passionate one. She began to enjoy reading so much that she soon decided she wanted to be a children’s author too.
Pippa went on to study English Literature and Creative Writing at university in the UK where she wrote, read, studied and wrote some more, and she has never stopped reading and writing since!
Pippa now lives in Singapore with her husband and three children. She can often be found helping out in their classrooms as she is a qualified Primary School Teacher reading stories to the class. She is always amazed by the children’s creativeness and gets many of her storybook ideas from spending time with them.
In the photograph on this page you can see a picture of Pippa in the Singapore Botanical Gardens. If you ever want to meet her, she can often be found inventing a new story on her morning dog walks in the green spaces around Singapore.
